The Trump administration has been working with countries around the world to strengthen vetting capabilities, according to the September presidential memorandum announcing the newest ban. It determined that Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen didn’t meet the demanded information-sharing criteria.
